Who needs to renew?

Advisors who have been awarded a certificate from the Minnesota Homeownership Center (the Center) in Homebuyer Education, Homebuyer Advising, and/or Foreclosure Advising must request renewal of their certificate from the Center.

What are the renewal requirements?

Certificates expire every three years.

• Renewal requires completion of 30 qualifying continuing education hours during that three-year period (averaging 10 per year)
• One hour of instruction equals one CE hour
• CE must enhance your knowledge and skills relevant to your role within Homebuyer Education, Homebuyer Advising, and/or Foreclosure Advising
• You may earn CE hours through outside sources if they meet the Center's requirements
